About Our Practice

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide patients with understanding and knowledge regarding their oral health and the relationship to their medical health. We believe that preventive care and education are the keys to optimal oral health. To accomplish this, Dr. McKenzie will focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams and taking X-rays as necessary. What to Expect at Your First Appointment

When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all of our forms that will allow us to begin your treatment. We will ask you to fill out several forms so we have all the personal and medical history information that we need. To make checking in faster, you may download the forms from this website, fill them out, and bring them with you to your first appointment. Also, please assist us by providing the following information:

  • A referral form and any X-rays taken by your referring dentist
  • A comprehensive list of the medications you are currently taking
  • If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card and any necessary forms. These will enable us to give you an estimate of your personal costs.

During your first visit, our objective is to get to know you better, to become familiar with your past dental experiences and to establish a treatment plan that will best meet your current desires. This initial exam will last approximately 30 minutes to one hour.

Dr. McKenzie will perform a thorough oral exam and X-rays will be taken. These diagnostic records will help Dr. McKenzie provide an evaluation outlining any existing dental problems and proposed treatment. We encourage you to ask questions. We’ll be glad to discuss any concerns you may have.
